Bosso is an historical distillery based in Cunico (Asti). It has been producing high quality grappa for over five generations, using grape pomace from Piedmont vineyards.
All the whole Bosso's production process takes place in the factory: selection of the best grape pomace, distillation, ageing and bottling, following high quality protocols. The distillery uses the discontinuous distikllation method with the traditional plant - which consists of two battery system sets of six copper stills and direct steam. Production is characterised by a long lead time and limited quantity in order to obtain the most aromatic and flavoured grappa. Through this process, our products reach the best quality standards.
The aging cellar contains about 1,000 hectolitres of grappa, including a few bottles aged for over 40 years. Bosso was one of the first distilleries to believe in the positive effects that long-term ageing could have on grappa - and the proof lies in our 1950 s' Acquavite di Moscato Stravecchia. Ageing of our grappa takes place in Montechiaro d'Asti, in an historical building previously occupied by Martini & Rossi. For the ageing process, we use small to medium-size chestnut, oak and cherry wood barrels. Thanks to our extensive experience both in grappa ageing and in our research for the best organoleptic combinations between aroma and bouquet, we know how to choose the right type of wood. Year after year, we monitor our products closely and select the right time to bottle each batch.
Bosso operates mainly in the Italian market through on trade and specialized retail channels, but it also deals with some distributors targeted to the European market. The company’s commercial strategy focuses on increasing its exports through the development of new foreign partnerships interested in the "Made in Italy".
